Billboard posted an article titled "The Top of their First Billboard Hot 100" on its official website on the 31st, announcing the news of BTS's "Hot 100."

"As BTS's digital single 'Dynamite' first entered the top of the 'Hot 100' latest chart, BTS became the first Korean singer to top the 'Hot 100' chart," Billboard said. "On March 7, BTS ranked fourth in 'Hot 100' with the title track 'ON' from its fourth full-length album 'MAP OF THE SOUL: 7', and occupied the 'Hot 100' chart with 'Dynamite'," he explained.

Billboard also described "the explosive start of 'Dynamite' and introduced major achievements in detail.

According to Nielsen Music's tally, "Dynamite," released on August 21, recorded 33.9 million streams and 300,000 won in sales in the U.S. for a week until August 27. With 265,000 downloads in the first week, it marked the highest digital sales in three years since the download of 350,000 copies of Taylor Swift's single "Look What You Made Me Do" on September 16, 2017.

"Hot 100" is Billboard's main chart that aggregates the rankings of singles by combining streaming, radio broadcasts and music sales. This marks the first Korean singer to reach the top of 'Hot 100' and also the first Korean singer to win the top of 'Hot 100' following Billboard's other main chart, 'Billboard 200'.

In particular, 'Dynamite' proved its explosive popularity by topping 'Hot 100' in the first week of its release.

Prior to "Dynamite," only 42 songs entered the first week of its release on Billboard in the first week of its release. Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Elton John, Celine Dion, Lauryn Hill, Britney Spears, Eminem. Among them, the only "Hot 100" groups in their first week of release excluding solo singers and featuring were Aerosmith, Jonas Brothers and The Scots, and now BTS is on par with them.

Disco Pop's "Dynamite" is a Corona19, which is a song about BTS's desire to spread a message of vitality and hope in times of hardship, and BTS has taken on a new challenge to sing in English for the first time since its debut.

The sincerity of the BTS has worked all over the world wide. Immediately after its release, "Dynamite" topped iTunes' "Top Song" charts in 104 countries and regions around the world (as of 8 a.m. on August 22), and also entered the Spotify's "Global Top 50" chart as the top spot (August 21). The music video for "Dynamite," which features a cheerful atmosphere, garnered 10.1 million views in 24 hours of its release, achieving the "most views in 24 hours" among music videos posted on YouTube.

BTS is the title track of its fourth full-length album "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7" at the "2020 MTV Video Music Awards" (2020 MTV Video Music Awards) held in New York on the 30th of last month, "BEST K-POP," "BEST K-POP," and "BEST CHOR"
